This week we explored tools to create your own slideshow. The tool that I chose to use was Animoto. This tool allows you to create artistic presentations. We focused our presentations on copyright!
I
enjoyed the tool as it was very user-friendly. It allows you to choose
from lots of different themes, and then integrate your text and ideas
into the theme. You also get to choose the music used for your
presentation, which I believe is a very important component of a
presentation. The only limitation that would make me think twice about
using this tool is the future is there is a very small character limit.
This did not let me express my full ideas. I would recommend this tool
for presentations that do not require many words.
Overall I think my first attempt at the presentation came out professional. Take a look!
This activity taught me the importance of copyright and how easily copyright free images can be located. We explored sites like Flickr to access these images. I located I website I thought was very useful called Pixabay
that use Creative Commons licensing. It was very user friendly and
allowed you to search for an image (with advanced search if necessary),
view what it can legally be used for, and then download it to your
computer. This allows you to use images without worrying about
infringing on the copyright laws. Copyright protects the creator of
images, music, and other works from being used. To adhere to copyright
laws one should always follow the digital responsibility of giving
credit where credit is due. All digital citizens should educate
themselves on copyright and creative commons to avoid running into any
trouble!
